Newsletter #1 - FLOURISH

Hi all,

Welcome to the first issue of my newsletter “FLOURISH.” With the constant bombardment of information all around us, my aim is to provide a source of relief and solace. I hope this newsletter serves as a reminder to take some time and pause from the overwhelming need to keep up with the latest news and information. To take a moment and assess yourself and how you are feeling - to find your flow. 

Our inner selves are often pushed deep down, covered up and forgotten amidst the hectic and stressful race that life can seem to be. Slow down, ask yourself “are you okay? Do you feel tired? Do you feel equipped to take on the challenges life will bring?”

Don’t forget to take a break from time to time and focus on the present, your “here and now.”

Try this: 

Go for a walk, to a park or water would be best, these places tend to be helpful in grounding and re-centering ourselves. Pay attention to the scenery around you, the air you are breathing, the breeze, the sound of the waves, the smell of the grass. Focus on your breathing, taking slow, deep breaths. You may notice a certain calmness start to flow through you, dwell in it. In this state of mind, it will allow you to become more self-aware and to recognize the emotions you have been feeling without it becoming overwhelming. It may give you clarity as to why you have been feeling those emotions. This is the beginning of being in touch with oneself, becoming more aware of yourself, your presence and your emotions.

I hope this serves as a reminder for you to check-in on yourself and can help guide you on how to ground yourself when you feel overwhelmed by emotion or by the hecticness of life.
